If you or someone you know has been in need of non-urgent medical care since COVID-19 outbreak, you may have heard the word telehealth. If you’ve never used it before, you may have questions about what it is or concerns about whether or not you should use it.
What Is Telehealth?
Telehealth involves the use of electronic communications to provide clinical services to patients without an in-person visit. It is a way of using technology for anything from initial visits and follow-ups to consultations and a host of other clinical services that can be provided remotely via secure video or phone connections.
While telehealth has been around for years to provide patients with consultations and care from the comfort of their own homes, it is being used now to keep patients and medical providers safe from COVID-19.
Currently, A Woman’s Place Medical Clinic is open and operating via telehealth.
Our Telehealth Services For Women
It is always our mission to provide women with free medical services and reproductive health education. Just like any other time, we are using this time to continue to empower and support women to make holistic, healthy choices during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Our phone lines are still open during our regular clinic hours and we are encouraging women who are in need of our services to call.
We don’t want you to worry about your healthcare needs as a woman. A Woman’s Place Medical Clinic is here to offer you essential information and support you in any way possible.
What Our Telehealth Services Look Like
Finding a medical provider that meets your needs can often be a challenge. We are here to provide holistic and confidential healthcare, even in these unusual times.
When you call one of our clinics, your initial phone call will be with a patient advocate, manager or nurse who will seek to understand your needs and perform an intake. If any forms or documents are needed, they will be sent to you virtually and discreetly. We will guide you to the resources and/or care you need, and all calls are strictly confidential.
These Are Our Standard Offerings
Whether our clinic doors are open or you are using our telehealth services, A Woman’s Place Medical Clinic cares for your body, mind, and spirit. While we cannot currently offer walk-in services and certain testing, these are the standard no-cost services that our clinic typically address with women:
If you are considering abortion and pregnancy options, it's important to have accurate and medically sound information, so that you can make an informed decision. There are different types of abortions, based on the stage of the pregnancy. Although A Woman's Place Medical Clinic does not perform abortions, we can provide a medical care plan that supports your specific needs, even during the COVID-19 crisis.
If you would like a telehealth consultation, we encourage you to call the clinic nearest you and let us assess how we can help you navigate your situation. We are still offering educational classes online with clients who would like to join them.
Coming Soon!
While we love talking to our clients over the phone, it would be even more beneficial to be able to see your face, and for you to see us. Check our social media channels to find out if video telehealth consultations is an option we are now offering. It is coming soon!
