WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

You may qualify for an ultrasound when you’ve received a positive pregnancy test at our clinic. Our medical team consists of a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Registered Nurses who are trained in limited obstetric ultrasound. Our experienced medical team will evalute if you qualify for a same-day ultrasound or if you will need to be scheduled for another day.

An ultrasound can help determine how far along you are, if your pregnancy is viable, and if your pregnancy is within the uterus. The ultrasound can help rule out an ecotpic pregnancy, which if left untreated could be life-threatening. An abortion will not resolve this complication.

ULTRASOUNDS AND ABORTION IN FLORIDA
Ultrasound appointments must be scheduled by phone. Before receiving an ultrasound, each patient will be assessed by a medical provider to determine eligibility. An ultrasound may not be performed on the same day as your initial appointment.

ULTRASOUNDS AND ABORTION IN FLORIDA

Florida law requires an ultrasound before having an abortion. The gestational age impacts the cost and type of abortion you may be eligible for, so it is important to know how far along you are. Many women do not know their last menstrual period dating, so an ultrasound is the best way to determine gestational age, especially early in the pregnancy.
